With the virus came a fervor for science. If anachronism is allowed, newspapers were no longer opened by the sports section, but by the science section. The readers of Research and Science were tears. At last the interest in knowledge was awakened. Good news in times of irrational delusions, when even Mendel's laws are under suspicion before the new Belarmino cardinals of anti-fascism. But, as usual, the joy was short-lived. Already the very nature of enthusiasm had more of blind faith than of well-founded belief. It was enough to see how the news of the vaccine was received. S
