The Jordanian Ministry of Health announced today, Wednesday, the death of a 3-and-a-half-year-old child following a mass poisoning incident that occurred in the Ain al-Basha area, north of the capital, the past two days as a result of eating a corrupt shawarma.

In turn, the director of Prince Hussein Hospital, Dr. Muhammad Al-Abed, announced today that the number of poisoning injuries has increased to more than 700. There are critical cases, especially among children. While tests revealed the presence of bacterial contamination in meat and chicken used in the restaurant.

The poisoning case came after eating "shawarma" meals from one of the restaurants operating in the Ain al-Basha Brigade in the Al Balqa governorate, yesterday and evening of the day before yesterday, and the relevant authorities closed the restaurant, and took samples to carry out the necessary checks.

It is reported that the reason for the high turnout at the restaurant was to present the "Shawarma Dinar" offer.
