In 1888, at the time of Saadi Carno, the French President presented the Joseon Royal Family with a white porcelain-colored salamina bottle in commemoration of the Treaty of Protection of the Buddha, signed two years ago.

Gojong, who received this French pottery, returned in return two pairs of colored celadon bowls made in the 12th century and a pair of royal crafts.

It was the first time since the opening of a port that a Western country presented a handicrafts gift to Joseon and the Royal Joseon Dynasty sent a gift.

And this French pottery is open to the public this time.

The National Palace Museum of the Cultural Heritage Administration is holding a special exhibition of Western ceramics used by the Royal Family of Korea until October 4th.

In this exhibition, a total of 400 artifacts will be exhibited, including this salamina bottle, ceramics made in France, the United Kingdom, and Germany, such as a suit of philuvit tableware and an oat-patterned glass lampshade.

The netizens said, "Wow... it's really beautiful even if you see it now. I'm going to the exhibition!" They responded, such as, "I'm pretty ten times better than my bowl now."
