In the corridors of the Ehpad Parc de Mougins, of the Korian group, on Wednesday June 17, 2020 - F. Binacchi / ANP / 20 Minutes

At the height of the epidemic in France, the establishment of the Korian group made the headlines with 40 out of 109 residents who have died of Covid-19 since the start of the epidemic. The nursing home La Riviera in Mougins (Alpes-Maritimes) has been reconfigured following a positive case in a resident, we learned on Tuesday.

As a precaution, Korian has since Saturday re-defined its residents and prohibited communal meals and visiting relatives. The group also carried out a set of tests on the elderly and the staff.

In the heart of the storm in April

This positive case concerns a resident hospitalized for other health reasons at the Cannes hospital center, specifies Antoine Ruplinger, regional director of Korian, a group which manages this establishment housing dependent elderly people, confirming information from Nice-Matin . "This resident, who had been ill with Covid last March and was cured, with several negative tests, tested positive when she was admitted to the hospital center, suggesting either traces of her former infection, or a new infection ”, specifies Antoine Ruplinger, adding that“ the hospital indicated that it did not present any symptoms of Covid ”.

"All the tests carried out on the sixty residents are negative, as are those carried out on most of our sixty employees", we note at Korian. Depending on the latest results expected Wednesday on the rest of the staff, the containment measures and restriction of visits could be lifted in the wake.

In April, following the numerous deaths in the establishment, relatives of residents filed a complaint against X for intentional homicide, failure to assist a person in danger and endangering others.
