I didn't really want to. This is, in general, the reaction of various branches of the Russian government to yet another ferment in the West (this time in Germany) about Moscow's hypothetical return to the G7. Berlin objects, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said in an interview with the Rheinische Post. The reason is the situation around Crimea and Donbass. How fresh.

“The G7 and G20 are two intelligently coordinated formats. We don't need a G11 or a G12, ”Maas explained. That's it. From these endless G's already dazzling in the eyes. Belonging to another, still pre-coronavirus era, the brilliant parties of world politicians with their fake smiles, hugs, curtsies and complete inability to resolve pressing issues begin to annoy.

Professionals are, of course, more reserved. President Putin “has never initiated any kind of re-creation” of the G8 format, Dmitry Peskov noted dryly. According to him, it is impossible to discuss global problems without the participation of new centers of economic development - India, China, Brazil, Turkey and other countries. This means that the G20 is the best form.

Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, reminded about the same. “I remember from my participation in the G8, we tried to call these countries, understanding that it was necessary, and calling it“ outreach format ”. Otherwise, the discussions would look incomplete, ”the former President of the Russian Federation noted. And he added philosophically: "One does not enter the same river twice." It seems that everything is completely clear to him.

But in the State Duma, politics is at the forefront. In the face of blackmail on the Crimean issue, Russia's participation in the G8 is out of the question, said Leonid Slutsky, head of the international affairs committee. Indeed, this is not why the deputies did and are doing painstaking work, opening their European colleagues' eyes to the real state of affairs on the peninsula in order to exchange it for useless gatherings.

However, the parliamentarians are not offended by the Germans, realizing that the statement of their Foreign Ministry is directed not so much against Moscow as against Donald Trump, who is ready to call Russia to the G7 again. Germany's relations with the United States are getting worse and worse. Before the summit was postponed from June to autumn, Slutsky recalled, Angela Merkel even refused to take part in it under the pretext of a pandemic.

If Frau stays true to the stated position, the “seven” runs the risk of turning into a “six”, dissonant for the Russian ear. So the efforts of the German opposition (and there is such a one in the Bundestag and in some lands), demanding the return of Moscow to the G7, should rather be aimed at "hilling" their own, not Russian politicians. After all, soon there will be nowhere to return.

The statement of the German Foreign Ministry is interesting for its shadow side. After the recent "Fulton" speech by Secretary of State Pompeo, who essentially declared a new Cold War on Beijing, it became obvious that Trump is continuing his attempts to put together an anti-Chinese coalition. For this, at the G7 he needed Russia, as well as India, Australia and South Korea. Germany is sticking a spoke in Washington's wheels in retaliation for Nord Stream 2.

These games are of little interest to Russia. The strategic alliance with China, skillfully built in recent years, is too valuable and promising for both sides.

Strengthening each other militarily, economically and diplomatically, our countries guarantee themselves security and conditions for development in a disintegrating West-centric world. The energetic Trump from his American bell tower is doing everything right, but clearly will not achieve success. It's even a little sorry for him.

Everything goes to the fact that in the autumn elections the Americans will give a ride to their unusual president. A hundred days before the vote, sociologists record the strongest disappointment with the course of the red-haired joker. Only one in five supports him. Whether the coronavirus is to blame (the US has the most cases and deaths), or BLM, or something else, Trump's rival Joe Biden in the three leading states is beating him. And why then should Moscow be invited to the G7? There is no need.

And what is the G7 now? Only the USA is a full-fledged hegemon there. The rest are his satellites, including Germany and Japan defeated in World War II. Economically not a weak bloc of countries, yes, but militarily, technologically this is no longer the case. Namely, military capabilities and advanced technologies are important now, when the world is shaking and the likelihood of a new big war has grown more than ever.

Russia and China have them. So it's time for our countries to grow up with satellites themselves, and not try to sit on the side chair of a weakening world leader.
