The coronavirus epidemic is still circulating, and many workers have returned to their workplaces. To limit the risk of contamination in companies, the government recommends that employers "build up a preventive stock of protective masks for 10 weeks to be able to cope with a potential resurgence of the epidemic".

As the supply situation has improved, "you must therefore collectively ensure that you have, over time, the equipment necessary for the protection of employees to ensure the continuity of your activity", we read in a note. addressed this Monday to employers, which AFP was able to consult.

Context of virus recovery

The recommendation of ten weeks of stock had already been made in early July before the lifting of the state of health emergency, but it is repeated in a context of a rebound in the number of new infections by the coronavirus in France and while the port of mask was made compulsory in enclosed public places.

"In the event of an epidemic resumption, the needs could be reinforced and reach several hundred million masks per week", recalls the note signed by the ministers of Health Olivier Véran and Labor Elisabeth Borne, as well as by the Minister for 'Agnès Pannier-Runacher Industry.

Possibility of generalizing the wearing of the mask

More precisely, "the government recommends evaluating the stock taking into account the situations in which the respect of the physical distance of one meter between two people cannot be guaranteed", according to the text which adds that "the employer can also decide to generalize the collective wearing of the mask within the company ”.

At the beginning of July, the Minister of Health Olivier Véran had stressed the need to decentralize the stocks of masks in France.
