The Syrian artist, Shorouk Al-Bunni, is preparing to film her role in the series "Street Chicago", directed by Mohamed Abdelaziz, and is also preparing for several works in the current period.

Al-Bunni praised the work, which tells of an ancient Damascene street during the French occupation in 1960, explaining that its events take place in "a street that includes a group of segments of society in different cultures and religions, where very interesting events take place."

On her character, she said: “I play at work the role of (Victoria), the very strong, humorous and kind person with everyone, who is always making friends.”

On the other hand, Al-Bunni talked about the movie “Sons of Life”, written and directed by her, and she said: “I participated this year in a festival with the General Cinema Foundation, with the movie (Sons of Life) from my writing and directing, and the representation of Jihad Saad, the supporter of Kharrat and the child Taha Rayhan.”

"The film tells the story of a family of a son and father who loses his wife after the birth of the child, and reviews stages of the development of the relationship between the father and son until the child becomes young and seeks to secure his future."

And she continued: "The father rejects the idea of the son turning away from him, and the emotional struggle with the father intensifies as a result of not accepting the idea of the son turning away, and he had to leave him to see what is appropriate. Through the film, we are the children of life and we are not the property of the family for life."

In another context, Al-Bunni confirmed that the reality of Syrian cinema is just like the reality of theater, explaining: "We have a strong cinema that started in the twenties, but is currently suffering from a lack of production due to the circumstances."

She said: "As for the reality of the theater, it is in a state of permanent activity, and it offers several shows every year, and renewable energies despite the war conditions, but the biggest obstacles are the productive situation and the lack of interest."

And about her continuing in the field of acting and influenced by the directing, she said: "Acting is my profession and I will not leave it, because I must remain in front of the camera ... Directing is a hobby and I do not know where I am in it, there are no limits in art, and discoveries are continuing."
