The Liwa Date Festival concluded the 16th competitions, which were held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, with the organization of the Committee for the Management of Festivals and Cultural and Heritage Programs in Abu Dhabi, which lasted for a period of seven days, which included 23 heritage competitions celebrated palms and fruits And more than 70 wet varieties of palm trees planted in the Emirates, while this year’s activities were limited to wet and fruit competitions without visitors, in the interest of public safety and the safety of participants and workers, in light of the exceptional circumstances due to the emerging Corona virus.

The number of competitions in the Liwa Wet Festival reached 23 competitions (11 wet decorations, seven fruit competitions, the most beautiful fairy contest, and four model farm competitions), and 288 prizes were awarded for a total value of more than eight million and 465 thousand dirhams.
