Faced with the lack of rigor in the application of barrier gestures and a certain relaxation of the population, the mayor of Bagnols-sur-Cèze announced Thursday that the wearing of a mask will now be compulsory in places with high attendance.

The measure will come into force on July 29, reports Midi-Libre .

Avoid a resurgence of the epidemic

From next Wednesday, market day in the town of Gard, the mask will therefore be compulsory for residents, tourists and traders. Noting for several days that his constituents were less careful about the epidemic, Mayor Jean-Yves Chapelet decided to tighten the screw. Mask on the chin, lack of protection of certain servers in bars or reluctance of customers to wear it in shops, the city council imposes this measure to avoid a resurgence of the Covid in his town.

To frequent places where there is a high concentration of people, such as shops, shopping streets or events bringing together the public in the open air, the mask will therefore be non-negotiable. The recalcitrant will receive a fine of 135 euros.
