The Egyptian artist Mohamed Ramadan announced the postponement of his new series "The Emperor", due to a dispute with the heirs of the late artist "Ahmed Zaki." Ramadan was to embody the character of the late artist in the series, which is authored by writer Bashir Al-Deek, to be shown during the upcoming month of Ramadan.
Ramadan said, on the social networking site "Facebook", "The series (Ahmed Zaki) has been postponed. And our next series, God willing," Musa, written by Nasser Abdel Rahman, directed by Mohamed Salama, and produced by Tamer Morsi.
A large number of followers expressed their regret after hearing the news of the postponement of the biography of Ahmed Zaki, wishing that an agreement could be reached with the emperor's heirs, to present the work as soon as possible.
Mona Zaki, the sister of the late artist, had confirmed, during a recent television interview, that she had not received any request from the artist Mohamed Ramadan about his desire to embody the personality of her brother, noting that she would not agree to embody the role until after reading the scenario.
"All members of the Ahmed Zaki family love the artist (Mohamed Ramadan) because he stood beside us in several situations, but he did not contact us to obtain approval to embody his character," Zaki added. "I welcome the idea, but approval will come after reading the entire script."
