Téléfoot, "the football channel", remains unknown to the general public - TF1

The Mediapro group and its brand new channel are still struggling to convince (and even to break through at all). NPA Conseil has published a Harris poll which highlights the lack of awareness of Téléfoot, launched this summer. One month before the start of the 2020-2021 season, 68.7% of those questioned indicated that they had not "heard of" the channel.

Once informed of the price mentioned for the moment, at 25 euros per month, 7.2% think of subscribing to it by keeping their current subscriptions or, above all, by dropping other services. BeIN Sports and RMC Sport subscribers appear more determined to give up these subscriptions in favor of Téléfoot.

Capitalize on the reputation of the TF1 magazine

The Sino-Spanish group Mediapro, which is currently building its channel, has yet to make agreements with Internet service providers to distribute it. But in early June he announced a license agreement for the Téléfoot brand and will thus be able to capitalize on the notoriety and reputation of the TF1 magazine.

The newcomer of the PAF will also be able to rely on the football stars of TF1: the emblematic duo of commentators Grégoire Margotton and Bixente Lizarazu, at work especially during the World-2018 won by the Blues of Didier Deschamps, will officiate on the Mediapro channel for about twenty L1 matches on Sunday evening.

The survey was conducted online by Harris Interactive from July 3 to 7, with 3,966 French people aged 15 and over. It estimates the proportion of French households subscribing to beIN Sports at 6.3%, and the share of RMC Sport subscribers at 4.1%.
