Delphine Ernotte during her hearing before the CSA on July 21, 2020 - Jacques Witt / SIPA

She had, in front of her, seven adversaries. President of France Télévisions since August 22, 2015, Delphine Ernotte was able to convince the Superior Audiovisual Council during her hearing this week, and was re-elected at the head of the audiovisual group. She therefore obtained a second term of five years. This is a first in the history of the group, at the head of which no leader had ever been re-elected.

"The choice of the board was based, in accordance with the terms of the law, on criteria of competence and experience and on the analysis of strategic projects informed by the hearings", indicates the CSA, which auditioned eight candidates, in its decision released Wednesday. The candidacies of Christopher Baldelli, ex-boss of RTL, and Jean-Paul Philippot, boss of RTBF, therefore did not convince the audiovisual gendarmes.
