[Explanation] At 8:32 on July 20, the Huai River Wangjiaba Gate in Funan County, Fuyang City, Anhui Province was opened to release water, and the Mengwa flood storage area was activated for flood storage. This is the 16th flood storage since Mengwa was built. According to reports, the Wangjiaba Gate is the only gate on the Huaihe River that is dispatched by the President of the National Defense Agency and is known as the "first gate on the Huaihe River in a thousand miles."

　　The highest water level in Wangjiaba reached 29.75 meters. After such a high water level, we received an order from the National Defense Administration to open the gates for flood storage. In accordance with the requirements of the county headquarters, each Zhuangtai County is equipped with a team member, and a temporary party branch is established in each Zhuangtai to promote the masses, organize the masses, serve the masses, and unite the masses. Help them spend such a flood season together. At the same time, we carried out dike-finding and risk-finding on each dike section, which strengthened the frequency of dike-finding and risk detection, because it is still at a high water level and is still above the guaranteed water level.

In the deep water, only treetops and roofs could be seen. Several checkpoints have been set up along the way to prevent the evacuated people from returning to the flood storage area. According to reports, in order to prevent the occurrence of water seepage and piping in the dam, levee patrol personnel have been arranged for 24-hour patrol.

Yu Haikuo said that although Wangjiaba Hydrometric Station has taken flood diversion measures, the flood control situation is still severe. We must attach great importance to flood prevention and disaster relief work in the Huai River Basin, strengthen inspections and rescue operations, and further strengthen the inspection and defense of the main dikes of the Huai River, important tributary dikes, and small and medium river dikes. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen the safety of weak links during the flood season, and further investigate hidden dangers for weak links such as the dangerous sections of dikes.
