[Commentary] On July 20, the Information Office of the People’s Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region held a press conference to inform the Urumqi City of the new coronary pneumonia epidemic situation and prevention and control work for the third time. Rui Baoling, director of the Urumqi CDC, introduced 16 new cases of newly diagnosed coronary pneumonia and 9 asymptomatic infections from 09:00 on July 19 to 24:00 on July 19. As of 24:00 on July 19th, there are 46 confirmed cases and 50 asymptomatic patients in Urumqi.

　　[Explanation] In the notification, Rui Baoling introduced that the early cases of the outbreak were all epidemiologically associated with a clustering activity. Combined with the exposure time, a generation of close contacts has been ill, and preliminary judgments have been made among existing medical observers. The exit will show a downward trend.

　　After the outbreak of the new coronary pneumonia in Urumqi, the number of confirmed cases and asymptomatic infections in the previous days increased rapidly, and the number of people who reported on the 18th was larger.

　　[Explanation] Rui Baoling also said that, according to the new coronary pneumonia incidence, the close contact of the new generation of outbreaks has gradually changed from the incubation period to confirmed cases or asymptomatic infections. On the other hand, after finding the confirmed cases, in accordance with the principle of "fluency adjustment, detection, and prevention and control", prompt and decisive and strict measures were taken to block the transmission channels, conduct epidemiological investigations, and focus on all key populations. Carrying out nucleic acid detection basically achieves early detection, early reporting, early isolation, and early treatment. Some cases are detected as asymptomatic infections before symptoms appear. The early cases of the outbreak were all epidemiologically associated with a cluster of activities. Combined with the exposure time, a generation of close contacts has already developed disease. It is initially judged that the detection of cases among existing medical observers will show a downward trend.
