July 20, at the age of 84, the national artist of Russia Viktor Chizhikov died. He is known as the author of the Olympic bear - the symbol of the 1980 Games in Moscow. His work was chosen from dozens of images. The artist’s drawings were used in popular magazines, including “Young Naturalist”, “Twinkle”, “Funny Pictures” and “Murzilka”. Chizhikov’s illustrations are decorated with dozens of books: “Winnie the Pooh and all-all-all”, “The Adventures of Chipollino”, “Uncle Fedor, the Dog and the Cat” and many other publications for children and adults. The artist's works were released separately in the form of three multi-volume collections.
