[Commentary] On July 19th, Urumqi held the second press conference since the outbreak, which introduced the latest situation of Urumqi city's epidemic situation and prevention and control. According to Rui Baoling, director of the Urumqi CDC, as of 24:00 on July 18th, there are currently 30 confirmed cases and 41 asymptomatic infections in Urumqi. Nucleic acid testing of existing medical observers and key populations has been completed.

As the incubation period progresses, some close contacts with negative nucleic acid tests in the early stage may show positive results in the second test and become confirmed cases or asymptomatic patients. At the same time, with the deepening of epidemiological investigations, more close contacts will be found.
[Explanation] Rui Baoling introduced that the traceability of the source of infection is in progress. We will further strengthen the epidemiological investigation to ensure that no one is missed, as soon as possible to identify the source of the disease, and resolutely control the spread of the epidemic. At present, although the number of confirmed cases and asymptomatic infections in Urumqi has increased, all come from quarantined medical observers, and citizens and friends need not panic too much.
