It was necessary to align the zeros to offer the film which promises to be the biggest blockbuster of Netflix. While the American platform had spent $ 160 million to buy Martin Scorsese and The Irishman in 2019, the auction rose for Joe and Anthony Russo, the two director brothers to whom we owe Avengers: Endgame . According to the Deadline site, their next film called The Gray Man will have a budget of nearly $ 200 million. It is the most expensive feature film ever produced by the streaming service.

In addition to its pharaonic cost, the film of the Russo brothers should also be talked about thanks to its casting. In the two main roles, we find Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans. The first will play Gentry, a former CIA agent who has become a hitman, and the second will be Lloyd Hansen, one of his former cronies who hunts him around the world. The screenplay for The Gray Man is adapted from the eponymous novel by Mark Greaney published in 2009.

"The purpose of the film is to compete with all the films in the cinema, and the chance to be able to do so with Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans is an honor for us," said Joe Russo. The two directors would even like to create a James Bond saga. "The idea is to create a franchise and imagine an entire universe, with Ryan at the center of the project," he said. Filming is set to begin in Los Angeles next January.
