Four meteorological warnings continue to be "screen" in the south due to high temperature of rain

For many people in the south, the weather is the most important thing in the near future. On the one hand, widespread heat spread in Guangdong and other places; on the other hand, rainfall in the Yangtze River Basin has not stopped.

On the evening of the 17th, the Central Meteorological Observatory continued to issue rain yellow warnings and high-temperature yellow warnings. At the same time, the Ministry of Water Resources and the China Meteorological Administration jointly issued meteorological warnings for orange flash flood disasters. The Ministry of Natural Resources and the China Meteorological Administration jointly issued meteorological hazard warnings for geological disasters.

In the past two days, these four early warning signals have been posted on the website of the Central Meteorological Observatory.

The people often say "heat is in the middle", but before this year's entry, some regions in Guangdong, Guangxi and other provinces have entered a high-temperature mode. Prior to this, the highest temperature in Meizhou, Guangdong, even set the highest record in the local observation history.

After falling into ambush, the heat did not mean to subside.

"Yangtze River Flood No. 2 in 2020" formed upstream

In addition to the high temperature, what is more alarming is the flood.

At 10 o'clock on the 17th, the Hydrology Bureau of the Yangtze River Water Resources Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources announced that "the Yangtze River Flood No. 2 in 2020" had formed on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River.

In addition, due to the continued strong rainfall, the average water level of Taihu Lake rose to 4.65 meters (guaranteed water level) at 7:00 on the 17th. It is expected that the water level will continue to rise in the later period. Jiangsu Provincial Department of Water Resources also upgraded the red warning of Taihu Flood at 8 o'clock on the 17th.

On the afternoon of the 16th, E Jingping, deputy commander of the National Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters and Minister of Water Resources, presided over a meeting to further study and determine the development trend of the flood situation. There will be a heavy rainfall process in Jianghuai and other places, and due to its impact, there will be a significant flooding process in the upper Yangtze River.

Typhoon may be active in late July

The time is about to enter late July, and typhoon activities will also be active.

Since the beginning of this year, two tropical cyclones have been generated in the Northwest Pacific and the South China Sea, and one of them has landed in China, both of which are less than the same period in history.

Typhoon No. 2 "Parrot" made landfall on June 14 in Yangjiang, Guangdong. It was the first typhoon to land in China this year. It has a shorter life span and weaker intensity.

However, the Meteorological Department predicts that during the period of "Seven Downs and Eight Ups", the number of typhoons generated in the Northwest Pacific and the South China Sea will be 3 to 4, which is slightly less than the same period of the normal year (5). Typhoon activities will begin in late July active. The number of typhoons landing in China is 2 to 3, which is slightly more than the same period in normal years (2).

The meteorological department said that the typhoon path is dominated by the northwest, and all preparations for typhoon prevention should be done in southern China and the southeast coast. (Finish)
