  According to previous reports, from the 16th to the 19th, the Yangtze River Basin experienced heavy rainfall from west to east. Heavy rainfall was located in the Three Gorges area, near the main stream of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, and northwest of the Dongting Lake water system.

  Affected by heavy rainfall, the main stream in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and the incoming water in the Three Gorges area have recently increased significantly, and the inflow of the Three Gorges Reservoir has increased rapidly. At 10:00 on the 17th, the inflow volume of the Three Gorges has increased from 42,000 cubic meters per second to 50,000 cubic meters per second at 14:00 on the 16th.

  According to the "Regulations on Flood Numbering of Major Rivers in the Country", the incoming water reached the flood numbering standard, and the Hydrology Bureau of the Yangtze River Water Conservancy Commission accordingly issued the "Changjiang Flood No. 2 in 2020" formed upstream. It is expected that the maximum inflow of the Three Gorges Reservoir will reach 55,000 cubic meters per second at 20 o'clock on the 17th.

  In order to prepare for a new round of flooding in the Yangtze River, the Three Gorges Reservoir has recently increased its discharge. At 10:00 on the 17th, its outflow was 32,200 cubic meters per second, the reservoir water level rose to 157.11 meters, and the flood limit water level exceeded 145 meters, 12.11 meters. Affected by this, the water levels of Shashi, Luoshan and Hankou stations in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River have risen again.
