The General Authority of Abu Dhabi Civil Defense has launched the cartoon character "Sanad", which will carry out awareness missions regarding safety requirements and fire prevention, and provides advice and guidance to the public on best practices and correct behaviors for prevention, and to establish and increase community awareness in this aspect.
The Director General of Abu Dhabi Civil Defense, Brigadier General Mohammad Mayouf Al Ketbi, said that the launch of this character embodies the vision of the state to be among the best countries in the world in safety and security, as part of the continuous efforts to upgrade and develop civil defense services for the better always.
The Deputy Director General of Abu Dhabi Civil Defense, Brigadier Mohamed Ibrahim Al Ameri, pointed out that any distinction or achievement achieved by the civil defense is a natural product of the good guidance of our wise leadership, as well as the distinguished efforts of all civil defense workers in developing performance in pursuit of the best international standards and practices.
The head of the Civil Protection Department, Captain Yusuf Saif Al-Kaabi, confirmed that the cartoon character "Sanad" will communicate with people closely through various social media sites, as well as on TV channels and cinemas.
He explained that "Lieutenant Sanad" will be a public-friendly, ambitious, educated and aware figure, as he will focus on providing advice about learning practices that contribute to reducing the causes of fires, and defining the role and services of civil defense in society in various seasons, such as rain and summer, among others.
He added: "He will also introduce how to deal with emergency situations and develop evacuation plans for the home in the event of a fire. He provides advice and guidance on the correct use of safety and protection systems, such as extinguishers and others, and to highlight their importance in homes, cars, restaurants and various installations."
He stated that scenarios for the character were prepared under the supervision of trained and specialized national cadres in simple methods and in the Arabic language, with translation available in English, noting that other languages such as Urdu, Hindi and others will be introduced in the near future. He pointed out that Lieutenant Sanad’s character is characterized by being educated and loving to read, and Sanad is confident in himself and wears a civil defense uniform and a yellow helmet, which is the uniform of firefighters, and is characterized by the character of the Emirati character who loves people in her smile, kindness, and love to help others.
