It's signed. The Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin announced this Thursday to have validated the decree which revalorizes the fire premium for firefighters. The commitment was made by the government in January after several months of mobilization of the fire soldiers.

"This will represent for each professional firefighter a monthly gain of around 100 euros net," tweeted Gérald Darmanin. The tweet is accompanied by a photo of the decree, which brings the fire bonus for firefighters from 19% to 25% of base salary.

The firefighters asked for a revaluation to 28% of the salary, up to the risk premiums granted to the police and gendarmes, but also the maintenance of the mechanisms allowing them to retire early at 57 in exchange for additional contributions.

In early June, sixty parliamentarians from the majority and the Modem had, in a tribune, urged the government not to refer "to the Greek calendars" the revaluation of the fire bonus, promised by this summer.

"Half the way"

According to Olivier Richefou, president of the National Conference of Fire and Rescue Services (CNSIS) and of the departmental council of Mayenne, "the minister, by signing the decree, has come half way".

"The second half of the road is the question of funding by the departmental councils [which finance Sdis] which are ready to implement it provided they are financially supported," he added.

According to the entourage of Gérald Darmanin, discussions on the issue of this funding will soon open with the departments and the Sdis.
