Since June, flood disasters have occurred in many places in China. The Zhenhai Bridge in Huangshan, Anhui, the Lecheng Bridge in Xuancheng, Anhui, the Rainbow Bridge in Wuyuan, Jiangxi, and the Fengyu Bridge in Matou Creek in Zhangjiajie were damaged by the flood, which is regrettable.

As of 16:00 on July 7, more than 130 immovable cultural relics in 11 southern provinces were lost due to floods. The State Administration of Cultural Heritage also issued a document requesting relevant departments to stand by and wait for the loss of cultural relics to be reported immediately, properly protect the follow-up work, collect and preserve cultural relic components or parts, and minimize the loss of cultural relics. Many relevant departments where the damaged ancient bridges are located have issued a notice that they will collect the ancient building components washed away and repair them as soon as possible.
