Governor Tamaki of Okinawa Prefecture has revealed that a taxi driver in his 80s living in and out of the US military base has been confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus.

This is the first case that a U.S. military official seems to have infected the prefecture's citizens, and now there are 149 confirmed cases of infection in the prefecture.

It was also made clear that the U.S. military contacted them saying, "It was confirmed that two new people were infected with the new coronavirus at Futenma base."

Now there are 138 confirmed infections among US military personnel in Okinawa.
