REPORTAGE

It's a reopening like no other for the famous Parisian amusement park. After a closure of more than four months due to the coronavirus crisis, Disneyland reopened to the public on Wednesday with very strict rules. Attendance strictly controlled, reduced waiting time and compliance with sanitary measures, everything is there to guarantee the safety of visitors eager to find their park. Our reporter Pierre Herbulot went there to visit this post-containment Disneyland.

Five minutes of waiting between each attraction, a record

It is a calm and almost desert Disneyland which opened this Wednesday. While every day more than 70,000 visitors usually come to enjoy the attractions of the famous park, the coronavirus crisis changes the game, with only 10 to 12,000 people according to the unions. A drop in affluence that is felt in the park ... to the delight of visitors! "In four hours, we did what people usually do on a weekend," said one of the delighted visitors, who came specially for the occasion.

Thus, five minutes of waiting is enough to finally try the attractions. A record time, for the park long accustomed to making visitors wait for long hours.

Strict sanitary measures

And the park did not skimp on the means to combine security and pleasure. To limit attendance, reservations are required and the ticket purchased the day before is only valid for one day. "It feels like it is in the middle of a week in winter. Frankly, it's nice. Even if it makes a strange impression because when there are lots of people, there is still a magic", explains Marie, reassured by this operation . "It's nice for the waiting time but it does a little different thing," she insists.

Compliance with barrier measures is also meticulously observed. From Sleeping Beauty's castle to the haunted manor, more than 20,000 liters of hydroalcoholic gel were used to clean the park up and down. Added to this is the installation of numerous plastic panels to ensure social distancing. But one drawback remains: you can no longer cuddle your favorite characters.
