  • Art: Banksy's emotional tribute to the coronavirus superheroes

Urban artist Banksy posed as a professional in cleaning the London Underground on Tuesday and made several graffiti on a wagon to claim the use of masks during the Covid-19 pandemic , as seen in the video that he has posted on his Instagram account . However, his last ephemeral work has not lasted long.

Although the London transport company has resorted to its strict anti-graffiti policy, the Daily Mail reveals Wednesday that a Metro employee mistakenly erased Banksy's work by mistaking it for any graffiti. A piece that could be worth more than a million and a half euros, says the British tabloid.

In the video, the artist paints several rats on the walls of a wagon, some accompanied by masks or disinfectant, and others sneezing and staining the wall, before the attentive gaze of some of the passengers, who observe with surprise the action of the Bristol artist .

Finally, Banksy leaves a message on the doors and walls of the stop where he gets off, in which the lyrics of a famous song by the British group Chumbawamba are read : " I get" locked "down ... but I get up again "(" They lock me up ... but I get up again ").

In the artist's account in which a video with the action has been uploaded, the phrase: " If you don't mask you don't get it " accompanies the images .

This is not the first time that Banksy has carried out an action to raise awareness about the coronavirus, since on May 6 the artist paid tribute to British health workers with a work in which he turned nurses into superheroes.

"Thank you for everything you are doing. I hope this illuminates the place a bit, even if it is only in black and white," said the artist in the note that accompanied the work, which remained hanging on one of the walls in the lobby. from Southhampton General Hospital , near the emergency area.
