Seventy-five years after the war Talk about the appearance of a former soldier forced to live in a wheelchair July 14, 18:25

Next month will be 75 years since the end of the war. A special exhibition was started in Tokyo to convey the appearance of a former soldier who was injured in the war and forced to live in a wheelchair after the war.

The special exhibition was opened at “Shokeikan” in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, which tells the experiences of former soldiers who were injured or ill in the war, so that they could know the actual situation of the war.

The exhibition focuses on former soldiers who were injured in the spinal cord in the war and were forced to live in wheelchairs after the war, with photographs and materials that mainly convey the medical treatment life at the sanatorium in Hakone.

You can see that there is a slope at the entrance to the sanatorium shown in the photo, and the bathtub has handrails that are designed to support life in a wheelchair.

There are also photographs of former soldiers doing bamboo work to support their lives after the war.

At the Tokyo Paralympics in 1964, 19 people who were in the sanatorium in Hakone participated and two people won the medal, so you can see the video at that time at the venue.

According to Shokeikan, the number of people who entered a sanatorium in Hakone decreased year by year due to aging, and the last one died in 2008.

``Many people think that war is a past event, but I think that knowing the suffering of war victims will still be relevant to the present, so we will turn to that point as well. I want you to try it."
