JRCS Hiroshima Branch Dispatched medical relief team to the Kumamoto area affected by heavy rain 15:20 on July 13

On the 13th, a medical rescue team made up of doctors from the Hiroshima Branch of the Japanese Red Cross Society departed for the victims of the Kumamoto Prefecture, which was hit hard by record-breaking heavy rain.

A total of 11 people were dispatched to Kumamoto Prefecture, including a medical rescue team made up of doctors and nurses at the Hiroshima Red Cross and Atomic Bomb Hospital.

At the opening ceremony held in Naka-ku, Hiroshima city on the 13th, Mr. Nao Izumi, Secretary General of the Hiroshima Branch of the Japanese Red Cross Society, said, "While being aware of the infection with the new coronavirus, we will be close to the victims and carry out rescue activities. I want you to encourage me."

After that, the members of the medical rescue team boarded three vehicles, including an ambulance loaded with medicines, new anti-coronavirus masks and face shields, and set out for the field.

It is said that the medical relief team will carry out patrol medical care at three locations in Ashikita, Tsunaki, and Minamata City in Kumamoto Prefecture, which has been severely damaged for four to four days.

Dr. Hiroshi Okano, the head of the medical relief team, said, “This year we were able to give back the benefit of everyone in Kumamoto who assisted us in the heavy rains in western Japan two years ago. We will take good care of the victims based on their medical needs. I will hit it."
