Galicians and Basques today go to the polls in one of the most rarefied environments of democracy. How the pandemic will affect participation is unknown, despite the fact that the administrations have established rigorous protocols to minimize the risks of contagion, reaching the unacceptable extreme of restricting the voting rights of the sick, whose legal consequences are unknown. In any case, what is at stake is weight. In both communities, formations that stray from constitutional frameworks and that threaten to destroy the system have regained strength. In Galicia, Núñez Feijóo is presented as a containment dam, but the scenario in the Basque Country is more diffuse, given the rupture nature of its main parties. We encourage citizens to vote, in compliance with health recommendations, for a useful option for Spain, for a constitutional vote.
