Make the most of this sunny Sunday as it spoils in the south of the country on Monday. Indeed, the weather will be unstable over the Pyrenees, the Alps and Corsica but quieter in the north before the arrival of a new deterioration by the northwest in the evening, according to Météo-France.

Rainy wave over Brittany and Hauts de France

At daybreak, the sky will already be well loaded over the east of the Pyrenean massif and a few showers will be possible. Over Corsica as well as from the south of the Alps towards the south of Toulouse and up to the south of Aquitaine, the high clouds will manage to mask the sky at times. Further north, the day will start under a bright sky, sometimes veiled by thin banks of high altitude clouds. These high clouds will become increasingly dense during the day through the northwest announcing the arrival of a new degradation of low activity on the Channel coasts. Rains will approach the north of the Brittany coast, the tip of Cotentin in the second half of the afternoon. This rainy wave will settle from Brittany to Normandy and the Hauts de France during the following night.

Instability will resume again in the mountain ranges at midday, thunderstorm showers will trigger over the southern Alps, sometimes overflowing into the mountains of Provence, the Pyrenees and in Corsica to a lesser extent. It is only at the end of the afternoon and the beginning of the evening that these stormy showers will fade and that the thinnings will become wider and wider.

What about temperatures?

At daybreak, the minimums will be rather cool in the north of the country with values between 8 and 12 degrees. They will be of the order of 12 to 20 on the southern half, from 19 to 23 on the Mediterranean arc. The highest will reach 20 to 22 degrees along the coast of the Channel, 24 to 30 over the rest of the country, up to 32 to 34 in the Gard and Hérault.
