Actor Dominic West - Eliot / Starface

Before meeting success with his roles in The Wire  and The Affair , Dominic West struggled like many aspiring actors. So much so that he was brought to sleep on the street. An experience that made a lasting impression on him.

"I have not experienced what the refugees who no longer have a homeland experience, but I was penniless - I was homeless overnight in London. It's astounding how quickly you become invisible, and how quickly you get insulted. Quickly, you realize that all you are asking others to do is just show humanity. And that was only because I ran out of money. Nothing compared to a refugee fleeing a regime, "he said during an interview for Radio Times relayed by NME.

A true story

Dominic West remembered this experience in the context of the release of Stateless . It is a Netflix series about four immigrants who find themselves in a detention center in Australia.

The actor replies to Cate Blanchett, Yvonne Strahovski ( The Handmaid ' s Tale ) and Jai Courtney ( Suicide Squad ). The program is inspired by the story of Cornelia Rau, an Australian citizen who had been illegally detained. Stateless is already available on the streaming platform.
