This week, the British Standards Authority issued a comprehensive specification as a guide for the standards that must be followed to return to work safely in light of the Corona epidemic. The specification, which came in 36 pages, included many lessons learned from several countries, as well as from the World Health Organization, As a specialist in quality and institutional learning, I was delighted to see the "Deming" PDCA course in the introduction to the standard (planning, implementation, examination, correction), which is a practical method that helps in solving problems and in continuous improvement, and it appears that the British Standards Authority wanted to remind the world of what "Deming" wrote in The eighties in his book “Exit from the Crisis”, where the application of principles and methods of quality and institutional learning helped in the exit of the world from the crisis of poor products and services, especially those related to human health and life.

BSI confirms that following the guidelines of this standard will achieve three main benefits, which are protecting workers, stakeholders and stakeholders in the work environment, that the risks of the "Covid-19" epidemic will be managed in a systematic and comprehensive manner, and that a framework for effective change management will be established.

This standard contains the best in many specifications such as risk management, occupational health and safety, employee welfare, business continuity, and institutional flexibility. The first section of the standard includes planning and assessment of risks so that an assessment and understanding of the scope of work and the environment in which a business is going to be conducted The institution concerned, followed by a detailed explanation of the role of leadership and the role of workers, then the new planning in line with the current changes, followed by work environments where the specification explains the traditional work environment, then work from home, work from another house, work from more than one site and from other sites Fixed, followed by a detailed presentation of the main roles in the organization, and the proposed activities to avoid infection and to mitigate the effects of Corona on institutional and individual performance, including emergency management and response methods.

In the second section, we dealt with how to deal with cases of suspected injury and confirmed cases, how to behave and what are PPE tools and how to isolate the patient, then how to follow up the patient's condition during his isolation at home.

The third section deals with mental health and well-being of workers, which is the part that I hope managers and business owners in our Arab world will notice, as mental health is never less than the physical health of a person if it is not more important.

The fourth section, entitled Comprehensiveness, deals with the importance of integrating people of determination and various religions, and those who need technical or training support in relation to the use of technology, and to talk about the rest of the other sections of the standard.
