Opera stars, such as: Anna Niterbo, Diana Damrao and Jonas Kaufman, will perform live concerts from locations across Europe and the United States in the coming months, as part of a series of concerts announced by the Metropolitan Opera in New York yesterday.

"The opera troupe has decided to try something new by choosing stunning locations," said Peter Gilb, Metropolitan Opera Director, at a press conference.

"The cameras 'lenses will focus on photographing artists' performances and the architectural details of the sites," said a statement from the opera.

The German artist, Jonas Kaufmann, will start the series with a live concert from the bowling alley in Bavaria on July 18.

At the Liechtenstein Palace in Vienna on October 10, and two weeks later, soprano Diana Damrao and her colleague Joseph Kalija in Malta will be singing at the Russian-Austrian opera singer Anna Nitrepko at Liechtenstein Palace in Vienna on October 10.

Shows will also be broadcast to viewers, from locations including Washington, New York and Berlin.

The Metropolitan Opera, which has been closed since mid-March, recently announced that it will not open again before December 31.

According to estimates, Metropolitan will lose revenues of millions of dollars.
