Only to inherit the non-legacy culture that has been passed down for more than 200 years

32-year-old master graduated 4 years to retake the college entrance examination

Changjiang Daily News (Reporter Li Yizhong Correspondent Cheng Shuxiong) At 5:10 pm on the 8th, 32-year-old Cheng Chuankun walked out of the Xinzhou No. 1 Middle School test site, with a relaxed face, and took a photo of the admission ticket in front of the Xinzhou No. 1 Middle School. This is his 4th year after graduating from the master's degree and then the college entrance examination.

"I am here to inherit the'Cheng's Orthopedics', which has been circulating for more than 200 years." Cheng Chuankun answered the doubts of the reporters of the Changjiang Daily.

Cheng Chuankun is the son of Cheng Shengqi, the ninth-generation heir to the city-level intangible cultural heritage "Cheng's Orthopedics".

"Cheng's orthopedic surgery" has a history of more than 200 years, and its unique orthopedic and rehabilitation methods are well-known. In 2017, "Cheng's Orthopedics" was listed as a representative project of municipal intangible cultural heritage.

In recent years, Cheng Shengqi, nearly sixty years old, has been looking for the tenth generation of descendants for "Cheng's Orthopedics", but for various reasons, failed to do so.

"When I first filled out my application for the college entrance examination, my father persuaded me to apply for medical school and inherit the'Cheng's orthopedics' in the future." Cheng Chuankun said, "but I felt that medicine was too complicated at the time, and I chose a material major that is easier to find employment." After graduating from undergraduate degree, in 2013, Cheng Chuankun was admitted to a master's degree program at Shanxi North University, and continued to study materials processing engineering.

In 2016, Cheng Chuankun graduated with a master's degree and worked in Shenzhen. "But every time I go home, my father still persuades me to inherit his mantle." Cheng Chuankun's heart slowly loosened. "Some patients with intractable diseases tell me the story of my father's cure, so that I have a sense of my father's medical skills. Understand."

In 2017, "Cheng's Orthopedics" became a representative project of municipal intangible cultural heritage. "This made me interested in my father's medicine for the first time."

In May 2018, Cheng Chuankun returned to Wuhan Optics Valley to work. As the time to return home increased, the stories of his father's treatment and rescue of people became more and more heard. Cheng Chuankun's medical skills from his father "from curiosity to admiration"

On Saturday, June 29, 2019, Cheng Chuankun returned home as usual. That night, the father and son had a long conversation. Cheng Shengqi told his son that he was old and he had to find a successor for "Cheng's Orthopedics". Cheng Chuankun finally made up his mind to resign and become a doctor!

According to relevant national regulations, medical personnel must obtain a doctor's qualification certificate and practice certificate. "Fight the college entrance examination again and apply for medical school." Cheng Chuankun did not hesitate. On July 1, 2019, he resigned from his work unit. Three days later, he signed up at the Xinzhou District High School Cultural Tutoring Center.

This year's Wuhan epidemic, white soldiers held armor retrograde, deeply infected Cheng Chuankun. "I'm firmer in my choice."

"This time the college entrance examination is relatively smooth, and it has normally played its usual level." Cheng Chuankun has more expectations for future medical treatment.
