At 9 o'clock on July 8th, Xin'anjiang Reservoir in Jiande City, Zhejiang Province opened the first 9-hole flood discharge after the previous 7-hole flood discharge. This is the first time that Xin'anjiang Reservoir has opened all 9 holes for the first 61 years since its completion. As of 14:00 on the same day, the water level of the reservoir was 108.41 meters, the over-flood water level was 1.91 meters, and the discharge flow was 7800 cubic meters per second.
The reporter learned from Hangzhou Jiande City officials that a total of 300,000 people in 8 local towns (streets) were affected by the flood discharge. At present, the three bridges of Zijin Bridge, Xin'anjiang Bridge and Baisha Bridge have been closed; the three terminals of Moon Island and Shuangjiang Tourist Pier, Fengyuexuan Pier and Jiuxing Fishing Village Pier are flooded; Xin'anjiang Green Road, Jiangbin Park and Jiangnan Park All have been flooded.
The reporter came to the local Gongxin Road and Zhejiang West Lane, and found that there was water inflow along the riverside community, and the road along the river such as the Baizhang Line was partially flooded. Some old communities with lower terrain are more seriously affected. The highest water level is about three meters. The local fire department has started pumping operations.
A total of 10,657 party cadres, volunteers, and night patrol personnel were mobilized in Jiande City, 6,978 people were transferred, 1,120 hidden dangers were investigated, and 173 settlement sites were set up; 15,960 sandbags have been built; 294,000 woven sandbags are prepared, and 3,500 life jackets. There are 41 rescue boats, 388 pumps, 240 tents, and 2830 camp beds. There are 8 bayonet bays in the flood discharge area.
