[Commentary] The Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced on July 8 that 24 new cases of new pneumonia were diagnosed in Hong Kong, including 5 imported cases and 19 local cases. The cumulative total of confirmed cases increased to 1323.
[Explanation] The newly added local cases involve multiple groups, covering nursing homes and restaurants. Among them, 8 confirmed cases came from the Hong Kong and Thailand Nursing Center, 3 cases were from the Xinfa Tea Restaurant in Jordan, and 2 cases were from Ping Shi Village Bin Kee Congee and Noodle Shop. It is reported that all three cases have been diagnosed before. Another taxi driver is temporarily unknown whether it is related to the Xinfa tea restaurant group due to staying in the intensive care unit.

[Explanation] Of the 19 newly diagnosed cases of local new coronary pneumonia, 5 have unknown origins, and if there is an asymptomatic infection, if there is no timely detection and medical treatment, there is a great potential for infection.
