It seems to me that Joan Rowling has some kind of internal trauma on this subject. She invented Harry Potter as a single mother. She once hinted that Dumbledore was gay (which caused an enthusiastic howl of fans). And now, having made a reservation once (because her words about women with menstruation were a reservation) and having encountered an inadequate reaction for a normal person in a sick society, she continues to stick sticks into the wheels. For example, I just “compared hormonal therapy for children who decided to change their gender with conversion, used to forcibly change a person’s orientation from heterosexual to homosexual”.
This, of course, cannot be forgiven. The best in the world (if not in history) children's writer has already been condemned by those who were not without her - actors who played wizard children in the film adaptation. Do not touch our happy non-binary childhood with your cisgender hands, as all these Daniel Radcliffs and Emma Watson (whose acting outside the Harry Potter universe is known and obviously close to zero) would say.
“Joan Rowling is not a scientist,” writes another “transgender model.” “She's not a doctor.” She is not an expert in gender. She does not support our community. She is a millionaire, cisgender and heterosexual white woman who has decided that she knows how our bodies will feel better. This is not her battle. ”
I agree with this ... with this ... what to call something ... okay. I agree that this is not her battle. And it is completely incomprehensible why a woman - happy, very rich, talented, cisgender, heterosexual and white - got into that. These are her cockroaches - and she has every right to do so. And the goal of my column today is not to arouse pity for a man who has a billion dollars.
No, I'm talking about something else. The reaction of the multi-million army of fans of the Harry Potter universe was the expulsion of Joan Rowling from this universe. Do you understand? They curse her and refuse her. From the creator! But not from the universe.
We are observing exactly the same thing now in the USA. Where fans of the Declaration of Independence universe destroy the memory of their founding fathers. And it is precisely in this, it seems to me, that the main sign of time consists. And not this time, but any. Any antiquity will one day be captured by barbarians. The descendants of American slaves exported to America from Africa do not want to go back to Africa at all.
No, they want to stay with all that the Americans have built. Only without the Americans.
In the same Africa, we have seen this several times. The last time - in South Africa. Where they kicked out the whites, leaving themselves everything that they built. Enough, however, not very long. The Russian peasant captured the manor house and turned it into a stable. The Russian worker settled in the professor’s apartment and turned it into a gloomy communal apartment. The German burgher cursed Hitler, crushing two hundred on his Porsche on the autobahn. There are darkness examples, but the idea is the same: someone builds until someone comes up who has a higher passion. Well, let's say a silovik to a businessman. And the businessman gives the siloviki a business. And the silovik is ruining the business.
In my ideal, nonexistent world, everything should be different. And the main tool for establishing social justice should be a huge asphalt roller. Does Joan Rowling not fit the criteria of a modern, progressive, non-binary, and what other person is there? Hence, one conviction is not enough. The world she invented should be rolled into asphalt. And the fans have to go home. In anticipation of a “better” author - not so cisgender, not so white and not so heterosexual.
So it is in America. Dissatisfied with America as such should return to their homeland, to Africa. Where did their American ancestors take their ancestors from? America roll into the asphalt. The Indians will build their old country on this pavement. Which was before it became America. Perhaps Maya and the Aztecs perked up. From the height of the current knowledge of what they had there with water in the reservoirs. Although, of course, this knowledge is also American and should be destroyed.
The Germans must bomb the autobahns. If you need bombers, we will help. And then, on the site of the old autobahns, the Germans will build, of course, new ones. By modern technology, and most importantly - cleared of shameful memory.
Everything is easier with you and me. The lordly houses that remained, the gentlemen and returned. Though to others. Not to mention the gloomy communal apartments, from the knowledge of the current value of which their former residents would probably worsen chronic diseases. Well, the security forces, without any instructions from me, turn the businesses they have captured into a void. Responsible people. I respect them.
But alas. This is just my speculative world. In the real world, it’s different. In the real world, the looter wins. Because stealing her universe from Joan Rowling is like robbing a Manhattan boutique.
And this, as you know, is now socially encouraged behavior in some places.
