The rescue boat in Molene's sea was hit with cutters. - SNSM Île Molène Facebook page

Stupor and anger on the island of Molène in Finistère. Alerted by a fisherman early Wednesday morning, teams from the island's SNSM (National Sea Rescue Society) station discovered that their inflatable boat had been vandalized with cutters.

“When we see the cuts, there is no doubt that it is voluntary. There are two on the left, three on the right ”, fulminates Marie-France Perhirin, station president, interviewed by France 3 Bretagne. A fisherman will lend them a boat

In Finistère, rescuers at sea also expressed their indignation, denouncing acts of vandalism that are increasing.

Used for rescue operations, the canoe is now unusable. While waiting for the damage to be estimated, the SNSM station in Molène will be able to count on the solidarity of the seafarers. "A fisherman will lend us a boat while waiting and the SNSM in Brignogan entrusts his old boat to us", specifies Marie-France Perhirin. A complaint was lodged with the gendarmerie.
