Young Indian 17-year-old Suham Mukherjee broke the Guinness World Records after repeatedly jumping 101 turns in 30 seconds, breaking the previous record that stood at 96 jumps.
Guinness World Records, the official authority to monitor and record world records worldwide, recognized the young man’s achievement under the name of “the most number of alternating jumps on both sides within 30 seconds” after it canceled 9 of them for not following the conditions.
The student is studying at James Wellington International School in Dubai in phase 11, and says: "I would not have tried to break a record if I did not move to Dubai."
The Indian youth recorded his attempt, which he made in his bedroom at his parents' house in Dubai, using two cameras for two mobile phones. He said: "I chose to use a ruler from stationery tools to jump over it, and I made sure to produce a slow-motion video as per the Guinness record requirements for this record."
The young man attributes his success to the practice of many sports during his life, including football, badminton, table tennis, and basketball. But what most helped him break this particular record was his practice of taekwondo for nearly 13 years, a sport that requires a lot of leg exercises, according to him.
He added: “I have always felt my preference in sports than my colleagues. Since I moved to Dubai in 2019, I began to feel more productive, so I decided to use my time during the quarantine period. I looked for a way to accomplish something important, and found an opportunity to try to break a world record in Guinness. Indices. "
