The Directorate General of Health communicated Tuesday evening a new human toll from the epidemic of coronavirus in France, with 29,933 deaths since the start of the crisis. The ebb continues, however, in the intensive care unit.

France has registered 13 new deaths linked to Covid-19, bringing the total number of deaths since the start of the epidemic to 29,933, the Directorate General of Health (DGS) announced on Tuesday. At the same time, the number of patients with Covid-19 in intensive care continues to drop, with 538 patients affected, 10 fewer than on Monday.

In detail, "19,457 people died in hospitals and 10,476 in social and medico-social establishments", establishments for which the balance sheet was updated on Tuesday. Last week, the balance sheet reported 10,497 dead, a revision of the number of deaths in these establishments.

"Worrying" situation in Guyana

On the other hand, the circulation of the virus in Guyana always remains "worrying", underlines the ministry. "Health authorities are mobilized to slow the spread of the epidemic, identify clusters and break the chains of contamination," said the DGS.

The three hospitals in this overseas region announced Sunday that they have launched their "white plan" to deal with the accelerating epidemic, while the government announced the arrival of a "crisis director". Guyana counted 4,913 confirmed cases of Covid-19 on Saturday, including 129 hospitalized patients, 23 in intensive care, and 16 deaths.
