Traffic still "worrying" in Guyana

The circulation of the virus in Guyana remains "worrying", underlines the ministry. The three hospitals in this overseas region announced Sunday that they have launched their "white plan" to deal with the accelerating epidemic, while the government has announced the arrival of a "crisis director".

Guyana counted 4,913 confirmed cases of Covid-19 on Saturday, including 129 hospitalized patients, 23 in intensive care, and 16 deaths.

"Epidemiological situation is stable" in the rest of the national territory

In the rest of the national territory, "the epidemiological situation is stable", indicates the DGS, which remains attentive "to the appearance of potential" clusters ", due in particular to family or festive gatherings during this summer period".

324 outbreaks of grouped cases have been identified since May 9, including 3 new ones. 197 are now "closed" while 127 are still active.

The DGS recalls "the usefulness of the StopCovid application in the fight against the epidemic" and "encourages all French people to download it", stressing that it "saves precious time in finding contact persons and quickly breaking the chains of contamination. ”
