[Explanation] It is understood that the total investment of the second phase expansion project of Haikou Meilan International Airport is about 17.8 billion yuan to build the highest level 4F flight zone. The newly built T2 terminal area is about 296,000 square meters, focusing on improving the support capacity of international routes, providing conditions for the landing of the fifth and seventh flight rights, and ensuring the annual throughput of international passengers up to 8-10 million passengers. The interior landscaping area of the terminal is up to 21,000 square meters, with 169 species and 210,000 Hainan characteristic plants planted, ranking first in the number of airports in the country.
At the same time, the second-phase expansion project of Haikou Meilan International Airport will join hands with the Free Group to build the country's largest airport duty-free commercial area. The commercial area accounts for 11% of the total terminal area. At present, 548 international famous brand merchants have been introduced.
