In recent years we have seen how the idea that many young women in Spain cannot freely choose their studies has become commonplace. The girls are underrepresented in the careers that we now call STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, in English), and this would not obey different preferences that give rise to individual choices, but, rather than statistical data, it would be of a social problem that should be combated.
