Guest of Isabelle Morizet, Sunday on Europe 1 in the program "There is not only one life in the life", Emmanuelle Béart, explained how Christophe took part in the double album recorded in homage to Guy Béart, in performing the song Vous, which was his very last recording, before his death last April.

INTERVIEW

"It was a friend," says Emmanuelle Béart, at the microphone of Isabelle Morizet, Sunday on Europe 1. Invited on the occasion of the release of a double album tribute to her father, the songwriter Guy Béart, the actress told how the singer Christophe, who died last April, came to participate in this project, which was his very last recording.

"He recorded it in a week"

For this tribute album, entitled "From Béart to Béart (s), free versions", Emmanuelle Béart attributed each song from her father to the artist who would best embody him. This sometimes allowed him to discover some, like the one that will ultimately be interpreted by Christophe. "The day I heard You again , a very simple song that my father wrote on the counter of a bar because there were no flowers to get to an appointment with Eve's mom , my sister, I sent it to Christophe, "she recalls.

Christophe was a friend, "more than a friend because we don't see each other every day" she nuances, but with whom she remembers having shared a moment of song around a piano, one night at Cannes. Christophe's response to Emmanuelle Béart's project for his father was quick to come. "He sent me back a note saying 'I'm going to work'," she continues. "And he recorded it in a week."

Christophe, Apple, Akhenaton ...

Christophe, Alain Souchon, Catherine Ringer, Clara Luciani, Maxime le Forestier, Raphaël… All generations are represented in this double cover album, initiated by Emmanuelle Béart and her sister, Eve. "We had thought of the artists very precisely, this is no coincidence," says Emmanuelle Béart.

Adjustments were made, however, afterward, as many artists - starting with Catherine Ringer - returned with their own ideas. "Catherine Ringer returned with Les souliers , which is a song she adores," explains Emmanuelle Béart. For her part, Clara Luciani wanted to interpret Song for my old woman , which Guy Béart wrote for the mother of the actress, Apple arrived with Those who love each other , as for Akhenaton, from the group IAM, Emmanuelle Béart explains that nobody Who could I have interpreted better Who am I? , than him. "No one was replaceable".
