After many twists and turns, the political day on Friday, July 3 ended with the first television interview with Jean Castex. Succeeding Edouard Philippe who had handed in the resignation of his government to the President of the Republic that morning, the first speech by the new Prime Minister was eagerly awaited. The former mayor of Prades had then chosen the set of the 20 hours of TF1 to express himself.

Obviously, the French were curious about the guidelines that Jean Castex was going to impose. From 8:12 p.m. to 8:33 p.m., its 21 minutes of intervention attracted 5.8 million viewers, or 30% audience share. Thanks to the Prime Minister, the 8 pm TF1, usually at a lower audience level each weekend, thus achieves its second best audience share of the year for a Friday.

Jean Castex has generally allowed the television news of TF1 to display a beautiful form of audience. In its entirety, this edition posted a score of 5.5 million viewers (28.7% audience share), a difference of 1.2 million viewers compared to the news of France 2.
