- Love Story is not your first song, but you shot the debut video on it ...
- Yes, you are absolutely right, I have already released solo songs “You Can’t Stop” and “Grandmothers”, and duet songs with beautiful singers Anya Pletneva (“Vintage”) and Anastasia Nekrasova. But Nikolay Baskov did not fit into any of them at all. And for the clip on Love Story, he was perfect!
If the Basque is also suitable for the next clips, I will shoot with pleasure. We, in my opinion, look great in the frame. He has lost weight now, and my figure flaws shade his ideality even more (Laughs) .
- Joined the movie Zhanna Kadnikova, who worked on several popular TV shows. Why did you invite her to shoot the video, and not some clip maker?
- We have known Zhanna since the days of KVN, and became friends on the set of "Real Boys", the director of which she is just. It sounds corny, but it was to her that I could easily entrust my debut video clip. And the whole team with which we are working on “Boys”.
Why do I need someone else, if there are my friends and, moreover, mega-professionals of their business who will definitely do both funny and beautiful?
- How was the idea developed? Did you come up with the plot yourself?
- The script was also invented by the whole team. And when she received the first editing of the footage, she laughed so that she scared all her animals in the house - the dogs howled, the cats ran to eat for the last.
- Does the result meet your expectations?
“The clip was even funnier than we expected,” they all tried very hard. And the song itself, written by a wonderful author from Moldova, Ivan Akulov, is very summer, fiery, understandable to everyone.
My producer Igor just sent me a meme yesterday with the text “A whole month has passed already, and there is still no song that annoyed everyone, but everyone sings it.” Here we are with Love Story claiming the title of such a song! (Laughs)

- The roles were written for specific stars, which later starred in the video, or did you choose the actors after the script was ready?
- For the main role, we wanted to call a “unexpected” man, who was like a macho man, and as if outside his usual role. I didn’t want to take handsome men and comedians who had already washed their eyes.
Nicholas arose immediately. Yes, they thought about others, but in the end, knowing Kolya, I decided that he was an ideal candidate and partner. As a result, in luxurious sandals with white socks and ridiculous shirts, he became the perfect lover for my heroine of the clip.
I liked Aiza for a long time - an interesting, beautiful girl, whose potential I really wanted to reveal. She became one of the most interesting finds and courageously endured many hours of breaks on the set of her scenes. Who else would ideally fit the role of physical education? Of course, a person with a perfect figure is Tarzan. As soon as we approved it, we realized that with his wife, Natasha Koroleva, they would make the perfect comedy couple. In addition, Natasha is a real lighter, and instantly got used to the role.
Anya Pletneva from the Vintage group, my beloved friend, played a synchronized swimming coach and not only charmed all the men present on the court, but also showed such a figure in a swimsuit that I wanted to wrap myself in a bathrobe and swim away. Yes, right in the bathrobe!
Well, and, of course, the opening for me personally is the premier of the Bolshoi Theater and another national artist of Russia (except for Kolya Baskov) Nikolai Tsiskaridze. He specially for the sake of filming came for a day from St. Petersburg. And not in vain - he fantastically revealed himself as a comedian.
“Did they all agree to shoot right away?”
- Well, of course, Basque did not want to, resisted. But I had to force him to force and blackmail. To be sure that he would not run away, I even fell during the shooting of the running scene on the "Fun Starts", then I was sad to show him a broken elbow and hint at the transition of the romantic line from the clip to life, out of pity.
Just kidding, of course. Nikolay is easy-going if he likes something, and our script, where he could change his role, delighted him. Other stars also easily accepted our offer to fool around. And I am very grateful to them for this. Believe me: thanks to them, the clip turned out to be 100%.

- Where did the shooting take place? Has your work been affected somehow by the restrictions introduced due to the pandemic?
- We shot in the Druzhba boarding house near Moscow, which ideally suited us in style. We stopped on Tuesday evening, finished on Friday at three in the morning. Of course, we had limitations. Individual disposable tableware, temperature measurement in the morning and evening to everyone who took part in the process. They sterilized everything - even the walkie-talkies of the film crew. But I really wanted to remove something as positive as possible, that people would cheer up after the pandemic and quarantine, so everyone worked as much as possible, for the result.
- You say that you shot only two full days, although there are a lot of events in the video, and they all unfold in different locations. Was it easy to meet that deadline?
- To be honest, it’s not difficult - our team worked like clockwork. Believe me, I know that there are often delays and processing on the set, but then somehow everyone got together. Did you miss work? Actors arrived on time, the scenery was equipped on time, makeup was applied on time.
Of course, on the one hand, we were tired of such a harsh rhythm - we finished late at night, we were already on makeup in the early morning. On the other hand, the atmosphere on the site was very friendly, positive, everyone joked, laughed, easily talked, supported each other. And the weather did not disappoint - only we finished shooting on the street - heavy rain poured. But he didn’t bother us at all.
So I hope people enjoy the clip. And there, you see, public events will be allowed again, and my solo song concert program, which I am currently rehearsing, will come to my place.
