The starring works include "Cuigang Red Flag", "Longxugou", "Linjiapuzi", "Revolutionary Family" and "Eternal Life in Fire".   In 1938, 17-year-old Yu Lan set off from Peiping to Yan'an and then studied at Yan'an Anti-Japanese Military and Political University. Outside of school, she often participates in various amateur theater performances. In the spring of 1940, Yu Lan entered the Lu Xun Academy of Art, became an actor, and embarked on the road of art. After the founding of New China, Yu Lan began to contact movies, and his identity changed from a stage actor to a movie actor.

  In the fall of 1949, Yu Lan first appeared on the screen, starring in the movie "White Soldier". Since then, she has appeared in "Cuigang Red Flag", "Longxugou", "Linjiapuzi", "Revolutionary Family" and other films, becoming a "star" on the stage of the new Chinese film.

  Even after officially retiring in 2000, Yu Lan still cared about the development of children's movies.

  After retiring, Yu Lan lived in the dormitory of the Children's Film Studio. "70-year-old must keep pace with the times"

  Tian Xinxin told reporters that when Yu Lan was 70 years old, he also learned to study computers at home. "She didn't do anything for it, she just felt like keeping pace with the times. She said,'Everyone uses a computer now, and I have to learn.'"

  Hou Keming remembers that Yu Lan's last departure from Beijing was to go to Guangzhou in November 2017 to attend the China International Children's Film Festival.
