They are the vacations with which the Spanish dream . Of course, safely, one of the conditions to put miles in between.

The recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO), the European Union and the Spanish Government itself encouraging people to travel in a responsible way are having an effect on the population, who yearn for a change of scenery. Not surprisingly, tourism at the international level fell 97% from March to May, according to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), so, now more than ever, a boost is urgent. "It is necessary to help both governments and companies to open tourism in a safe, fluid and responsible way, " says UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili. Since June 15, most EU countries have their borders open. Spain did so on the 21st and this is how its most immediate tourist future arises.

This sector has always shown an intrinsic resilience and now, with the pandemic, it is doing it again."

IN SEARCH OF SUN, BEACH AND ... THE VILLAGE OF ALL LIFE

Another of the reference tourism websites, Rumbo, also sees how reservations multiply throughout the country, prioritizing rural tourism and coastal destinations. He agrees that the favorites are enclaves such as Benidorm, Torremolinos or Salou, while others such as Mallorca, Lanzarote, Ibiza or Tenerife stand out when it comes to succeeding in online searches. AFTER THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PEOPLES OF SPAIN

Francisco Mestre, president of the Association of the most beautiful towns in Spain, made up of 94 towns, from Guadalupe (Extremadura) to Lastres (Asturias), Alquézar (Huesca) or Atienza (Guadalajara), also believes that inland tourism and rural is the key to this season. "We expect a national and proximity tourism and we will be delighted to receive everyone," he says. But on one condition: that they are responsible.

To do this, they have produced a manual of good behavior for tourists. Mestre recalls that the numbers of coronaviruses have been lower in the rural environment than in the cities, as they are far from the main sources of infection and adopt isolation formulas quickly. Therefore, they ask their visitors to exercise extreme caution. "We only ask that they be responsible with health and safety measures, as well as with respect for the environment," he adds.

TYPE OF ACCOMMODATION FAVORITE

Regarding the type of accommodation, 31.9% of Spaniards opt for the hotel / hostel (31.9%), while 20.9% prefer a tourist apartment. Then there would be the second home (18.8%), family homes (8.6%), camping and motorhomes (2.05%) and other options (3.6%). In this sense, the price of apartments on the beach increases by 3% compared to 2019, as pointed out by the independent appraiser Tecnitasa, endorsed by the Bank of Spain.

Campsites and motorhomes add followers this year.

Reasons? "Many families who have a flat on the beach and rented it in July or August now want to enjoy it themselves, so there is less supply and the price goes up, " says José María Basañez, president of the company. The average price would go from 200 euros a week for a flat in Lugo to 2,800 in Menorca.

In any case, the dominant guideline when choosing accommodation is "the security and trust" that the place transmits, explains Manuel Vega, president of the Spanish Association of Directors and Directors of Hotel and Restaurants (AEDH): "It is the The only way to continue having the best hotels in the world, for which we are carefully executing hygiene , cleaning and safety protocols . "
