On July 3, at the 99th year of life, after a long illness, the national artist of Russia Alexander Petrov died. He passed the Great Patriotic War, and after its end he entered GITIS. In 1952, Petrov was accepted into the troupe of the theater of the Soviet Army, where he served until the end of his life - about 70 years. During this time, the artist played more than 50 roles in the productions of such directors as Maria Knebel, Leonid Kheifets, Alexander Bourdonsky, Boris Morozov and others. The last time Alexander Petrov took the stage this season - with a monologue ending the play "The Fate of One House".
