In 2000, Anhui Medical University established the "Chinese Brain Bank", the first "Chinese Brain Bank" in China, and was successfully selected as the national resource sharing platform "National Health and Disease Human Brain Organization Resource Bank" in 2019. Changed its name to the National Brain Bank Security Medical Branch. The human brain bank currently stores 22 human brains, all of which were obtained through donation of the remains.
