Well, the morning of a new day has arrived. The network sparks with a kaleidoscope of opinions about even preliminary, but more than unambiguous voting results on amendments to the Constitution of Russia.

Some intellectuals are dumbfounded. The other part (the one that considered the amendment campaign a good opportunity to work out the budget) actively and already changes its shoes for free in order to save face. But the vote, no matter how pathetic it may sound, concerns primarily the people and their will. And here there can be no two opinions - the concept proposed by the president was adopted by an overwhelming majority.

Within a few hours of the announcement of the results, all conclusions about a falling confidence rating, about people's fatigue, about inappropriate - against the background of coronavirus - time for such serious changes were reset. This is not the first time in our history that intelligentsia’s considerations have come across the abyss from ordinary people filling legitimacy of power in the state.

Now the draft amendments can be called as you like: the largest reform of the state system or a vote of confidence in the policy that Vladimir Putin has been pursuing for the third decade. The fact is that the president’s initiative found understanding among all people of all professions, ages and views.

Why are all my creative friends against? Because stylistically, the submission of these amendments looked untimely. In essence - true, but not in form.

Why are some of the youth against? Because she does not want in the Constitution to consolidate God and marriage exclusively between a man and a woman. She doesn’t give a damn about it, because this generation does not understand why. Those born after the year 2000 didn’t understand anything at all, and they didn’t understand. They saw the post of Dani Poperechny on Instagram and voted against the machine.

The amendments were explained in the old fashioned way, and young people needed to be convinced. I am for amendments, which does not prevent me from understanding the discrepancy of the form of their submission to modern realities. Therefore, one should not be surprised at the irritation of the progressive part of our youth.

Explain very complex things in a simple language Instagram and Facebook, too, must be able to.

But the adoption of amendments to the Constitution is not the point that marks the end of a particular project. Rather, it is a colon followed by a new vector of development for our country. Yes, the basic principles of the functioning of state power are described, priorities are set, but the ability to live in accordance with the tenets of the basic law does not come with either ticking the box “for” or summarizing.

To teach and learn how to live and work in accordance with the Constitution is a new and most serious challenge. Here we must answer it, starting with ourselves and starting right now.
